Received the flash in new package. Almost everything works properly. The "Pilot" or flash test button doesn't work. Everything else works just fine. It's not worth the hassle to return, get refund, and then order another one for such an inexpensive unit. I will just put up with the defective test button.

This is not a TTL device, you actually must have some knowledge of photography, flash, guide numbers, ISO, all that stuff they teach in the photography class you did not attend because you thought you were just going to pick up a camera and start making money because "how hard can it be, really?"I purchased this flash to use as a background light. Works great for that. I wanted to start doing some on location fill lighting, too, and it works great for that as well. I use this, often, at about half power. The recycle time is very quick.There is no LCD screen on this unit, just a series of LED lights to indicate power levels and zoom position. Power can be adjusted from 1/1 down to 128th. It has sound to indicate the unit is ready. The unit can run off of a external power unit (available separately) and has a PC Sync port for extra versatility. It has a power save mode that can be turned off.Portable, powerful, inexpensive. Great for those who want to learn more about this craft and for those of the "strobist" mindset.
